The AAFE Open House

At the end of the Spring After-School Program session, CFSG Directors Stephen Lynch, Kevin Mark and Selso DaSilva helped the kids put together a presentation of their accomplishments for the Youth Technology Showcase event.

“I want to take a moment to thank you all for your hard work on both the Youth Technology Showcase and the DYCD reporting, simultaneously.”

“The Showcase was a great success: The students enjoyed it, the parents enjoyed it, it was very celebratory, the youth got to really show their work to many people, we had great attendance, and the food was great. Some important people were impressed: Chris and Margaret (the Executive Director and the Deputy Executive Director), Cynthia Graham from DYCD, as well as Wei (our supervisor) and Susan (the fundraiser). And we made some good new connections and cemented some of our previous connections. A special thanks to Flora for being the party planner, food planner, and decorator. The decorations look great, and will continue to stay up as long as the tape sticks!”

“Meanwhile, you all multi-tasked to get ready for the DYCD visit the next day. That also went very well, although it continues to be annoying. Thanks to Tony, David, and CFSG for the teacher comments; Cynthia Graham really was happy with them. And thanks to Tommy, who along with Anthony, some girlfriends, and Jennifer cleaned up the files just in time.”

“So I appreciate all your work, and look forward to more celebrations and paperwork with you all!”

We've chosen free and open software because it's better, and because it means the children can participate in making the software better over time.
