The 3D Workshop Open House at Asian Americans For Equality
Participants in the AAFE Norfolk Street Community Center's after-school progams put together an open house to present their projects. Students from Selso DaSilva's Blender 3D Workshop demonstrate their animation designs.

The twelve week course began with a discussion of 3D graphics and animation concepts, followed by an introduction to Blender and Free Software. Topics included modeling, adding texture, working with Primitive Objects, and manipulating the Blender interface to keep track of relative locations using a three-axis coordinate system.
Workshop participants went on a field trip to visit animators at a local graphics studio. They created their own short animated sequences and received copies of Blender, so that they can continue expressing their creativity and sharing it with others.
If anything deserves a reward, it is social contribution. Creativity can be a social contribution, but only in so far as society is free to use the results.
